Development Director Needed.
Anyone interested in applying for the position of Development Director should contact Superintendent Matt McMullen at lccsmmcmullen@yahoo.com.
The Development Director responsibilities include:
1. Lead the Development Department in the following areas:  alumni relations; annual fund campaign; attracting new students and families; capital campaigns; estate planning; grant writing; major gift solicitation; public relations; publications; and tuition assistance.
2. Establish and communicate a vision for the Development Department.
3. Cooperate with the Board of Trustees, Administration, and Finance Committee set annual financial goals.
4. Formulate and delegate departmental and individual goals/tasks cooperatively with department personnel and meet weekly with department personnel to monitor progress towards goals.
5. Establish lines of communication which eliminate multiple solicitations of individual donors, duplication of efforts, and general confusion in fundraising/solicitation.
6. Cultivate new donors and nurture current donors with an emphasis on establishing and maintaining personal relationships.
7. Actively meet and communicate with potential and current donors on a regular basis; solicit funds as needed and appropriate.
8. Coordinate contacts for board members, administrators, and influential community members to develop relationships with and to solicit funds from potential and current donors.
9. Promote estate planning as a means of mutually benefiting donors and the school.
10. Oversee the implementation of school community events and fundraising efforts for the annual fund, current capital campaigns, and tuition assistance fund.
11. Establish a committee to meet at least monthly (or as needed) to plan and implement school community events (i.e. Grandparents Day, Student Visitation Day, Kindergarten Preview) and/or fundraisers.
12. Work with administration to establish goals, schedules, incentives and appropriate activities for all events.
13. Delegate tasks in order to implement events and fundraisers effectively.
14. Supervise capital campaigns – ensure capital efforts compliment annual fund and tuition assistance efforts; monitor progress of campaigns; provide assistance where needed.
15. Initiate and maintain frequent and effective communications.
16. Supervise public relations efforts, including but not limited to the publication of newsletters, brochures, mass mailings, church bulletin inserts, Web site content; the preparation and submission of articles and advertisements for print to local newspapers; contact with radio and TV media as appropriate; campus displays, solicitations, banners, etc.
17. Meet with the Superintendent and Administrative Team regularly as determined by the Superintendent.
18. Attend Board, faculty, and staff meetings as needed or requested.
19. Give oversight to a systematic plan for expressing thanks to all donors – calls, notes, letters, personal contacts, etc.
20. Report endowment activities to each endowed program donor by February 15th of each year.
21. Prepare annual report for Corporation in July of each year.
22. Develop relationships with area churches and pastors.
23. Establish priorities for church relationships cooperatively with the Superintendent and Campus Pastor.
24. Meet with pastors and church leaders for the purpose of building strong bridges of support.
25. Supervise the collection and recording of donations and the management of data for development operations.
26. Clearly establish, communicate, and enforce procedures to ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of gifts, donors and records.
27. Ensure appropriate standards for database management are communicated and followed.
