Spiritual Life at LCCS—"How will Lake Center encourage
spiritual growth in its students?"
Every school feeds children
spiritually, whether they realize it or not. However,
some spiritual food is void of nutrition and value. At
LCCS, we welcome a "Master Chef" who offers living water
and spiritual food, a diet guaranteed to satisfy the
yearnings of the soul and appeal to the growing pains of
youth. It is easy for spirituality to become
stagnant ritual and habit, even as adults. LCCS strives
to teach students that God is constantly at work in our
lives, actively involved in our everyday thoughts,
words, and deeds. It is our mission to show students
that a Christ-centered life can be exciting and will be
the most fulfilling decision they will ever commit to.
When the disciples urge Jesus to eat
something, Jesus tells them, "I have food to eat that
you do not know about." The bewildered disciples tell
each other, "Surely no one has brought him something to
eat?" Jesus clarifies what his "food" is, "My food is to
do the will of him who sent me and to complete his
work." That is the appetite imparted to the students
here at Lake Center Christian Schools, an appetite
satisfied by reading the Word and serving Him who spoke
it.
